College Football countdown underway

Hard to believe that the college football season is right around the corner – less than seventy days. The season opens with Notre Dame hosting Navy in Dublin, Ireland. I am not sure who’s running the PR department for Dublin, Ireland but they have done a good job selling these season opener games. Despite living in England for nearly three years, we never made it over to Ireland. I must admit that this game has a nice hook. I can see me selling one of these Irish season openers to my wife. One day to see the game and the rest of the time is at her discretion. Plus, it also has the Labor Day weekend tied to it.

To build a little anticipation of the upcoming season, I am starting a slow burn of refreshing my stadium reviews based on last year’s final AP Top Twenty-five. As you have seen, I have been updating the website to make it more mobile and tablet friendly. I did a rough update of all the reviews, but to really take advantage of the new design takes a bit more time. So in between creating rivalry insult t-shirts and building a tailgating community platform, I am slowly updating individual reviews.

UT Longhorns Review Update

We start off with #25 from last year’s final AP poll, the University of Texas Longhorns. As you may be aware, the Horns are jumping to the SEC in 2024. That is good and bad news for T-Sips. On the plus side, the rivalry with Texas A&M is getting renewed. On the other hand, playing in the SEC is going to be a bit tougher than playing in the Big 12. Goodbye Baylor, hello Bama. We had a great time Darrell K Royal stadium. A great double overtime win over a #10 Fighting Irish was a great way for UT to open the season. Check out the full review here.
